Greenville Federal once again a festival sponsor

GREENVILLE — JoEllen Melling, president of the Annie Oakley Festival Committee, met with Jeff D. Kniese, president and CEO of Greenville Federal, to receive their sponsorship on behalf of the 2016 festival.

Greenville Federal has helped sponsor this Darke County long-time honored tradition for many years. Giving back to local communities has long been a trademark of Greenville Federal, the oldest bank headquartered in Darke County.

“We are happy to help the Annie Oakley Festival Committee in the continuation of this county tradition.” stated Kniese.

The Annie Oakley Festival Committee is planning on having many activities for everyone to come out to York Woods to enjoy, and is happy about continuing to offer this to the public at no charge.

Since the move to York Woods a few years ago, the Annie Oakley Festival is gaining momentum once again.

“The community support has been encouraging this year, and many people that we talk to are excited, knowing that one of the county’s oldest festivals, is building up once again,” Melling said. “Everyone has appreciated the York Woods location because of the shade, it being a more relaxed atmosphere, and also the fact of it being closer to Annie’s childhood home. The committee members, vendors, and festival attendees all love the location and are eager to return this year. There are many plans transpiring this year to make 2016 even better than last year, but the Annie Oakley Festival Committee continues to need the community’s support in order to accomplish them. Even though the festival is less than a month away, we are still seeking sponsorships and would be willing to sit down and answer any questions, with any local businesses or individuals who are interested in becoming a sponsor.”
