Aiden Snyder, grandson of Deb (Todd) Reigelsperger and Jerry (Sandy) Snyder, has been diagnosed with ALL, leukemia. Aiden is a strong and brave boy who has a long road ahead; please keep this young family in your thoughts and prayers. An account has been sent up at any Wells Fargo Bank for anyone wishing to donate and there is also a donation can at Huston’s Restaurant in Arcanum. A Fundraising Event has been planned for Aiden and his family for Saturday, July 30 from 4 to 11 p.m. at the Arcanum VFW Post 4161, 311 South Albright Street, Arcanum.
COME JOIN IN THE FUN in a kid friendly benefit filled with food, games, bake sale, and DJ. Parents of Aiden are Erica and Chris both graduates from Arcanum High School. They now reside and work in San Angelo, Texas. In May, their son Aiden became sick. He had to be flown to Cook’s Children Hospital in Ft. Worth. Erica and Aiden now stay at the Ronald McDonald House, when Aiden is not receiving inpatient treatment at the hospital. Meanwhile, Chris is taking care of their daughter Ella, while still residing and working in San Angelo (230 miles away). Erica has put her career on hold to care for Aiden for an undetermined length of time. The family hopes to make this benefit successful with your kind donations and support. The fundraiser is being hosted by Aiden’s family here in Ohio – Deb and Todd Reigelsperger, Mark and Shelley Spiers, Jerry and Sandy Snyder, Ryan and Heather Snyder, and MaKayla and Ryan Borger.
The Pitsburg Church of the Brethren will host a concert by “Fresh Spirit” on Sunday, August 7, 2016; at 6 p.m. “Fresh Spirit” was originally a group of three sisters – Linda, Marilyn, and Pattie – who grew up traveling and singing as part of the Brewer Family. When Marilyn decided to return to her home in Tennessee, Linda and Pattie felt strongly that their ministry should continue. During this time, God was working on another of His children who had a similar background as the Brewer’s — born and raised to travel and sing. Having sung with her family for nearly 35 years until her father’s home-going, Tish Newland was searching for the job God would provide for the next “chapter” of her life. As only He can, God brought the three ladies together, and gave them harmony not only in voice, but in their hearts as well. Thus, “Fresh Spirit” was reborn and rededicated to the mission of lifting up the Body of Christ by sharing God’s goodness and love through song. In early 2012, led by the Lord to come “off the road”, sister Pattie announced her retirement and agreed to stay on until the Lord’s choice for the group could be found. Their search led them to Sarah Hatfield, a young woman from the Dayton, Ohio, area, with a beautiful voice and the desire to use it for the Lord. Sarah’s debut appointment with us was August 2012, and she’s been hanging in there ever since! These three ladies, along with our tremendous “sound man”, Stan Covert (Linda’s better half), are Fresh Spirit. Help support our local firefighters this fall if you are looking to get your family portraits done. During the months of September and October, Timothy Clopp Photography will be taking family and children portraits. All proceeds will be donated to the Arcanum Fire Company. Mailers will be out in mid-August for this fundraiser to the Arcanum area.
