DNC 2016: Facts by the numbers from the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday


PHILADELPHIA — Here are some interesting statistics from the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday:

• 2,836 delegate votes were received by Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton during Tuesday’s roll call vote. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders final total was 1,843. There were 55 abstentions recorded.

• 135 different political buttons are being sold in the lobby of the Doubletree Center City Hotel by New York City businessman Mort Berkowitz. There are Hillary Clinton buttons, Bernie Sanders buttons and anti-Donald Trump buttons. Berkowitz said the biggest sellers, by far, are the anti-Trump buttons.

• 26 years have passed since the passage of the American with Disabilities Act of 1990, which protects discrimination against people with disabilities. U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, D-Scranton, noted the anniversary at Tuesday’s breakfast meeting of the Pennsylvania Delegation.
