GREENVILLE — An estimated 10,000-plus people visited the sixth annual Gathering at Garst at the Garst Museum grounds this past Saturday and Sunday.

The event, scheduled for the last weekend in July, featured a variety food, music, artwork, crafts, activities, vendors, and a historical encampment with reenactors. All proceeds from the festival benefit the Garst Museum.

Museum Director Dr. Clay Johnson called himself “extremely pleased” with this year’s event.

“We had beautiful weather, good food and an impressive crowd,” he said. “We’re certainly pleased with the museum attendance, as well as all the wonderful vendors and programs this year.”

“We appreciate all of the help we’ve received, by all the volunteers from the community,” he added.

The Garst Museum was named “Best Historical Museum,” and its annual Gathering at Garst festival was named 2016’s “Best Summer Festival” by Ohio Magazine readers.

The museum is located at 205 North Broadway in Greenville. For more information on happenings at the museum, visit the Garst Museum website at www.garstmuseum.org.
