Greenville girls tennis team improves to 3-0 with wins vs. Stebbins, Milton-Union

GREENVILLE – The Greenville girls tennis team improved to 3-0 on the season with a pair of wins against Stebbins and Milton-Union.

Greenville won 5-0 against new Greater Western Ohio Conference member Stebbins on Thursday.

In first singles Greenville’s Natalie Milligan swept Vily Ngo 6-0, 6-0. In the second singles match the Lady Wave’s Anna Manges beat Thuy Nguyen 6-0, 6-2. In third singles Greenville’s Abby Swensen swept Kim Huynh 6-0, 6-0.

In the first doubles match Greenville’s Molly Hunt and Larisa Schmitmeyer beat Claire Hines and Zulbiya Ilyasova 6-1, 6-2. In second doubles Addie Haupt and Amber Hutt swept Sophie Dang and Taylor Dancer 6-0, 6-0.

In junior varsity action against Stebbins the Greenville doubles teams of Marabelle Lance and Alison Baughman, Chloie Graves and Katie Baughman, and Amanda Chui and Valerie Myers all won. Casey Malott lost in junior varsity singles.

After getting rained out against St. Marys on Friday, Greenville returned to action on Monday with a 3-2 victory at Milton-Union.

Greenville’s Molly Hunt and Larisa Schmitmeyer beat Caitlin Bushelman and Hannah Fugate 6-1, 6-2 in first doubles. In the second doubles match the Wave’s Addie Haupt and Amber Hutt beat Mercedes Farmer and Laura Billings 6-1, 7-6.

Greenville’s Abby Swensen won in third singles 6-1, 6-4 against Rachel Rock.

In first singles the Lady Wave’s Natalie Milligan lost 6-4, 6-2 to Ashley Wombold. In the second singles match Anna Manges lost to Abby Hissong 6-4, 6-4.
