DARKE COUNTY – Trucks and tractors competed at the National Tractor Pullers Association pulls on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the 2016 Darke County Fair.
Session one saw Adam Koester drive Beast of Burden to victory in the 2,050 pound open modified mini tractors division with a pull of 330.905 feet. Chris Martin in LG Seeds took second place with a pull of 314.465 feet, and Adam Koester in Walk the Line finished third with a pull of 313.540 feet.
Brent Payne and Get a Load of That won the 8,000 pound open super stock tractors division with a pull of 311.620 feet. Jeff Hirt finished second with a pull of 304.500 feet in Fast Lane while Jordan Lustik in Silver Bullet placed third with a pull of 304.280.
Ron Newell guided Temporary Insanity to a win in the 6,200 pound modified four wheel drive trucks class with a pull of 298.780 feet. Darren Taylor took second place in Super Chevy with a pull of 295.565 feet, and Greg Whitesel in Cornstalk Express finished third with a pull of 287.565 feet.
Greg Lamb drove Black Viper 308.515 feet to win the 8,500 pound light pro stock tractors division. Kendall Houk finished second in Nothing Special with a pull of 303.715 feet while Kendall Beasley finished third in High Gear Harvester with a pull of 299.100 feet.
Jessie Petro in Buckeye Hauler took the 6,200 pound modified two wheel drive trucks championship with a pull of 329.225 feet. Randy Petro in Kathy’s Komplaint finished second by pulling 316.175 feet, and Matt Cain pulled 314.435 feet in Xtremely Buy Polar to finish third.
After Tuesday’s competition, which included 76 entries in five classes, Wednesday’s competition included 53 entries in five classes.
Jeffrey Fussner in Busted Budget won the 8,500 pound light pro stock tractor pull on Wednesday with a pull of 292.145 feet. Kyle Woodruff in Strictly Business finished second with a pull of 290.450 feet while Mark Wiederhold in Bare Necessities took third with a pull of 288.830 feet.
Brad Hart in Don’t Ask won the 9,3000 pound super farm tractors division with a pull of 319.345 feet. Drew Parkinson in Commandeere took second place with a pull of 318.675 feet, and Greg Freeze in Deere Traxx placed third with a pull of 318.615 feet.
Dave Richardson driving For Sale won the 8,000 pound unlimited modified tractors pull with a pull of 342.790 feet. Bill Voreis with American Thunder pulled 340.575 feet to finish second, and Kevin Criswell in Blown Centless finished third with a pull of 336.355 feet.
John Strickland guided Get a Load of That II to victory in the 8,000 pound open super stock tractors with a pull of 359.595 feet. Brent Payne finished second with a pull of 346.870 feet in Get a Load of That while Josh Blackbourn in International Threat finished third with a pull of 337.225 feet.
Adam Koester drove Walk the Line to victory with a pull of 348.305 feet in the 2,050 pound open modified mini tractors division. Larry Koester in Footloose took second place with a pull of 335.025 feet, and Adam Koester went 328.060 feet in Beast of Burden to place third.
