Versailles earns No. 2 seed in OHSAA volleyball tournament

DARKE COUNTY – More than half of Darke County’s volleyball teams enter the Ohio High School Athletic Association tournament rated more highly than their first-round opponents.

Darke County’s top rated volleyball team in the OHSAA sectional tournaments is Versailles (15-5), who is the second seeded team in the Division III Brookville sectional. After receiving a first-round bye, the Lady Tigers will play the winner of 15th seeded Brookville (4-15) and 18th seeded Bethel (3-15) at 6 p.m. Monday in Brookville.

Arcanum (15-4) is the fourth seeded team in the Division III Brookville sectional and will play ninth seeded Northeastern (9-10) at 11 a.m. Saturday in Brookville in the opening round.

Greenville (5-15) is the 10th seeded team in the Division II Tecumseh sectional and will play 13th seeded Trotwood-Madison (0-15) at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tecumseh to begin tournament play.

Ansonia (15-3) is the seventh seeded team in the Division V Arcanum sectional and will face 12th seeded Twin Valley South (12-7) at 7 p.m. Monday in Arcanum.

Mississinawa Valley (9-11) received the 19th seed in the Division IV Arcanum sectional and will play sixth seeded Lehman Catholic (11-9) at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18 in Arcanum.

Tri-Village (5-13) is the 22nd seeded team in the Division IV Arcanum sectional and will play the winner of fourth seeded Catholic Central (16-4) and 20th seeded Cedarville (8-12) at 6 p.m. Oct. 20 in Arcanum.

Franklin Monroe (9-11) is the 15th seed in the Division IV Troy sectional and will play 17th seeded Troy Christian (11-9) at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Troy to begin tournament play.

Bradford (0-16) is the 25th seeded team in the Division IV Troy sectional and will play the winner of top seeded Jackson Center (21-0) and 26th seeded Jefferson (2-15) at 6 p.m. Oct. 18 in Troy.
