Greenville girls finish 3rd in American division at GWOC cross country meet

CENTERVILLE – The Greenville girls finished third in the American division at the Greater Western Ohio Conference cross country meet on Saturday at Centerville.

Greenville’s girls finished third among the eight teams in the American division behind champion Troy and runner up Tippecanoe. Following Greenville, Piqua finished fourth, Vandalia-Butler finished fifth, Sidney finished sixth, Xenia finished seventh, and Fairborn finished eighth.

Brooke Perreira led Greenville’s girls as she finished 57th overall in a time of 21:43.8. Also for the Lady Wave, Hayley Maher finished 58th in 21:44.5, Grace Coakley finished 59th in 21:45.4, Tiffany Strobel finished 70th in 22:44.1, Rachel Unger finished 81st in 22:33.7, Kelsie Ruble finished 89th in 24:53.8, and Macy Godown finished 92nd in 25:19.9.

Troy’s Morgan Gigandet won the varsity girls race, which included 119 runners, with a time of 17:37.0.

Greenville’s boys finished seventh out of nine teams in the American division. Tippecanoe finished first, Butler finished second, Troy finished third, Sidney finished fourth, Piqua finished fifth, Xenia finished sixth, Greenville finished seventh, West Carrollton finished eighth, and Stebbins finished ninth.

Jacob Subler led Greenville’s boys by finishing 64th overall in a time of 18:16.2, Caleb Browder finished 68th in 18:31.7, Seth Unger finished 77th in 18:47.9, Matt Karns finished 95th in 19:25.6, Levi Emerick finished 103rd in 20:22.6, Dodge Sucharda finished 106th in 20:35.2, and Andrew Kocher finished 109th in 21:01.4.

Beavercreek’s Ben Ewert won the varsity boys race, which included 128 runners, with a time of 15:59.9.
