Mississinawa Valley girls basketball team loses season opener to Parkway

UNION CITY – The Mississinawa Valley girls basketball team began the 2016-17 season with a 53-43 loss to Parkway on Friday.

Parkway took an 8-4 first quarter lead and extended its advantage to 18-13 in the third quarter. The Panthers led 31-23 through three quarter en route to the 53-43 win.

Mikayla Stump led Mississinawa Valley with 20 points in the loss. Also for the Lady Hawks, Kelsie Hunt scored 12 points, Madison Stachler scored four, Olivia Murphy scored three, Sidnie Hunt scored two and Kylie Willis scored two.

Haley Hawk led Parkway with 22 points while Sydney Crouch scored 16.
