PIQUA — Twenty-two students from the Upper Valley Career Center Adult Division Practical Nursing program turned the dream of graduating from nursing school into a reality on November 22. The graduation event was attended by Upper Valley Career Center staff members, family, and friends.
Dr. Nancy Luce, Upper Valley Career Center Superintendent welcomed those in attendance and congratulated the graduates on reaching this important achievement.
Class Advisor, Vickie Ashman, commended the graduates on their accomplishment and offered words of inspiration. “Remember these words and take them with you into your new career; nursing will test your knowledge, skill, endurance, and most of all it will pull at the strings of your heart. Remember compassion and kindness and always strive to be an excellent nurse,” says Ashman.
Lori Ludwig, Program Director, paid special tribute to Destini Speraw of Troy for superior attendance and Krista Snider of Piqua was recognized as the recipient of the Doris J. Luckett scholarship award.
Destini Speraw of Troy and Debra Gallagher of Versailles were recognized for their contributions as elected Class Representatives.
Program Director, Lori Ludwig pinned the graduates and Adult Division Director, Dr. Barbara Wagner awarded the diplomas.
