MECHANICSBURG – The Ansonia boys basketball team doubled up Mechanicsburg on Saturday, winning 76-38.
Ansonia took a 19-10 lead in the first quarter, but Mechanicsburg cut the Tiger advantage to 32-26 by halftime. Ansonia pulled away in the second half, taking a 56-33 lead in the third quarter en route to the 38-point victory.
Aydan Sanders led Ansonia with 20 points in the game. Also for the Tigers, Hunter Muir scored 17 points, and Brayden Swabb scored 16.
Ansonia improved to 2-1 with the victory.
