Mississinawa Valley loses CCC girls basketball game to Covington


UNION CITY – Mississinawa Valley lost 71-48 to Covington in a Cross County Conference girls basketball game on Thursday.

Covington led 20-12 at the end of the first quarter and 39-18 at halftime. The Buccs extended their lead to 58-30 in the third quarter en route to the 71-48 final score.

Kelsie Hunt led Mississinawa Valley with a game-high 19 points. Also for the Lady Hawks, Makayla Stump scored 9 points, Sidnie Hunt scored 6, and Kylie Willis scored 6.

Jordan Crowell led Covington with 16 points. Also for the Buccaneers, Samantha Whiteman scored 13 points, Makenzie Long scored 11, and Addison Metz scored 11.
