Ansonia, Versailles bowling teams lose WOHSBC matches

NEW BREMEN – The Ansonia and Versailles bowling teams suffered losses in West Ohio High School Bowling Conference action on Thursday at Speedway Lanes in New Bremen

The Ansonia girls lost by just 10 pins to Fort Loramie, 1,758-1,748. Madison Stover led Ansonia with games of 146 and 135. Also for the Lady Tigers, Sarah Rhoades rolled games of 128 and 133, Lexi Shinn bowled games of 121 and 113, Molly Walls rolled games of 87 and 99, Audrey Kelly rolled a 104, and Sarah Clark rolled a 74.

The Versailles girls lost 2,510-2,252 to Coldwater. Makenzie Berning led Versailles with games of 188 and 162. Also for the Lady Tigers, Maggie Hedrick rolled games of 168 and 169, Morgan Hietkamp rolled games of 132 and 154, Brigette Holsapple bowled a 173, and Haddi Treon rolled a 152.

The Ansonia boys lost 2,076-1,563 to Fort Recovery. Charles Murphy led Ansonia with games of 166 and 112. Also for the Tigers, Tyler Clark rolled games of 106 and 90, Sam Rhoades bowled games of 111 and 78, Allen Christman rolled a 106, Jedd Rismiller rolled an 87, Damien Hampton bowled an 80, and Tyler Dishman rolled a 75.

The Versailles boys lost 3,183-2,916 to Coldwater. Alex Groff rolled games of 231 and 187 to lead Versailles. Also for the Tigers, Jacob Wenig rolled games of 196 and 180, Kyle Cotner bowled games of 181 and 178, Brody Hyre rolled a 233, Brandon Bradley bowled a 178, and Luke Shellhaas rolled a 157.

The WOHSBC teams will return to action on Jan. 7 at Pla-Mor Lanes in Coldwater. At 9:45 a.m. the Ansonia and Mississinawa Valley boys will face off while the Versailles boys take on Marion Local. At 1 p.m. the Ansonia girls will face Russia, the Mississinawa Valley girls will take on Coldwater, and the Versailles girls will face Fort Loramie.
