UNION CITY – Mississinawa Valley’s eighth grade boys basketball team beat crosstown rival Union City 37-36 on Tuesday.
Mississinawa Valley trailed 8-6 at the end of the first quarter but took an 18-15 lead into halftime. The Blackhawks led 27-25 through three quarters and hung on for the 1-point win thanks to a last-second shot by Zack Conner.
Trey Godfrey led Mississinawa Valley with 13 points. Also for the Blackhawks, Conner scored 8 points, Wyatt Feltner scored 6, Leevi Ward scored 6, and Blayne Johnson scored 4.
