LEWISBURG – The Ansonia boys basketball team outscored Tri-County North 23-10 in the fourth quarter Friday night to pull away for a 55-41 Cross County Conference victory.
Ansonia jumped out to a 19-8 lead in the first quarter. North then outscored Ansonia 11-5 in the second quarter to make it 24-19 at halftime and 12-8 in the third quarter to make it 32-31 entering the fourth quarter. Ansonia got going again in the final period to win by 14, 55-41.
Hunter Muir led Ansonia with 17 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. Also for the Tigers, Devyn Sink scored 16 points, Trevor Alexander scored 9, Aydan Sanders scored 9, and Brayden Swabb scored 4.
Gabe Brinson led Tri-County North with 15 points. Also for the Panthers, Bailey Larson scored 8 points, Brian Stinson scored 7, Zach Edgin scored 5, Terrelle Lewis scored 3, Brandon Parsons scored 2, and James Fry scored 1.
Ansonia improved to 6-6 overall and 4-4 in the CCC with the win.
