MINSTER – The Versailles girls bowling team traveled to Minster on Saturday and defeated the Marion Local Flyers 2,580-2,169.

The Tigers bowled well together, showing consistency in hitting marks and picking up spares, something that they have worked hard during practice to improve, Coach Tyler Phlipot said.

Morgan Heitkamp bowled a personal best with a 277. She hit the first seven strikes on game one and then left a solid 10 pin. She continued on hitting three more strikes and in her final roll knocked down eight.

“I’m proud of the whole team and also Morgan,” Coach Phlipot said. “It is nice to see the work put in during practice show during competitive play.”

Leading the Tigers were Morgan Heitkamp (277, 161; 438 series), Brigette Holsapple (191, 196), Lindsay Cheadle (208, 145), Haddie Treon (187) and Morgan Barlage (165).

Baker scores for Versailles were 168, 177, 167, 154 and 157.

“We will continue to work on cleaning up our Baker games,” Phlipot said. “Our goal is to have consistency across the board heading into the end of the season. We continue to strive for another appearance in Columbus.”

The Tigers’ record is now 5-2. The next match will be on Saturday at Union City bowling against Fort Recovery.
