TROY – The Greenville bowlers rolled into Troy and split with the Tippecanoe Red Devils Wednesday afternoon at the Troy Bowling Center.

A crowd of 25 watched the bowlers roll two regular games then do two Baker games with five bowlers. The key to the Bakers is to have your best bowler roll the fifth and 10th frames.

The Wave boys and girls both high fived each other and cheered each other on with different chants.

The Lady Wave varsity bowlers bedeviled the Red Devils, 1,554 to 1,539 total pins. The varsity and junior varsity coach for both squads is Kim Garland.

“We didn’t bowl our best tonight by a long shot, but we did come with a victory, which is nice,” Garland said.

Leslie Miller was the Wave’s top bowler with 181 followed closely by MacKenzie Slade with a 178.

The varsity squad consists of Leslie Miller, Hannah Bingham, Mariah Nicholas, Ale Segura, MacKenzie Slade, Jenna Netzkley and Shannon Parent.

The boys varsity and junior varsity squad is coached by Travis Nicholas, and the Wave went down to the Red Devils 1,705 to 2,120 in pins.

“We rolled a 2,134 last night at Greenville’s Treaty Lanes,” Nicholas said. “However, when we go on the road to a different lane it is always difficult to win because there is a different type of lane surface to master.”

Mark Zeiler posted the top bowling score for the Wave with a 201.

Varsity bowlers consist of Cullen Blinn, Mark Zeiller, Jordan Miller, Dylan Smith, Alex Kiser, Chris Elliot, Dylan Stepp and Andrew Stozall.

The bowlers next match is at noon Saturday at Treaty Lanes versus Greater Western Ohio Conference foe Piqua.
