VERSAILLES – Versailles’ junior high bowling teams are going strong this year with each of the teams at or above .500 in the standings.

Versailles has four junior high bowling teams this year and a total of 24 bowlers. They compete on Sunday afternoons against other area schools.

They have had a very strong year, and the kids are improving significantly, Coach Tyler Phlipot said.

“It is nice to have an opportunity for these kids to start competing before the high school level,” Phlipot said. “This would not be possible without the many volunteer coaches and the parents sacrificing their Sunday afternoon and providing transportation for their kids.”.

Versailles black roster high scores include Hayden Yagle (199), Sam Bensman (179), Jorden Cordonnier (188), Caden Dickey (132) and Colin Roll (135). Their record is 3-1.

Versailles orange roster high scores include Jay Mumaw (165), Matthew Francis (146), Alex Kunk (162), Cameron Frederick (139), Nigel Brooks (136), Kierce Brooks (129) and Mallory York (124). Their record is 2-2.

Versailles gray roster high scores include Landon Henry (148), Derek Morris (154), Jacob Treon (156), Brandon Henry (129), Zach Watren (124) and Dean Pohl (115). Their record is 2-2.

Versailles white roster high scores include Owen Gehret (149), Tyler Gehret (166), Jayden Groff (143), Drew Cotner (125), Lindsey Cotner (91) and Morgan Rinderle (136). Their record is 3-1.

The teams will all bowl at 1 p.m. Sunday at McBo’s Lanes in Versailles.
