Mississinawa Valley boys basketball team wins at Houston


HOUSTON – Mississinawa Valley made it back-to-back wins by defeating Houston 57-43 on Saturday night.

Mississinawa, which was coming off a victory against Miami East, took a 14-9 lead in the first quarter and led 24-18 at halftime. The Blackhawks increased their lead to 37-25 in the third quarter on their way to a 14-point victory.

Ethan Bowman led Mississinawa Valley with 19 points. Also for the Blackhawks, DJ Howell scored 9 points, Andrew Johns scored 9, Trent Perkins scored 9, Darin Miller scored 5, Matt Slob scored 4, Kyler Guillozet scored 1, and Blake Scholl scored 1.

Mississinawa Valley improved to 7-13 with the win while Houston fell to 2-18. The Blackhawks will play host to Lehman Catholic on Tuesday.
