LIMA – The Versailles girls bowling team won its West Ohio High School Bowling Conference divisional playoff match against Wapakoneta on Saturday at Westgate Lanes in Lima.
The Versailles girls beat Wapakoneta 2,623-2,477. Morgan Heitkamp led Versailles with games of 183 and 212, Brigette Holsapple rolled games of 202 and 168, Morgan Barlage rolled games of 170 and 169, Makenzie Berning bowled games of 168 and 158, and Jamee Brown rolled a 228. The Tigers improved to 10-2 with the victory.
Mississinawa Valley’s girls lost 2,547-2,176 to Celina. Spencer Warren led Mississinawa Valley with games of 170 and 154, Tabitha Richards bowled games of 146 and 158, Payton Reichard rolled games of 150 and 139, Tiffany Westfall bowled games of 153 and 106, Airrika Westfall rolled a 126, and Elizibeth Mangas rolled a 124. The Blackhawks fell to 7-5 with the loss.
Ansonia’s girls lost 2,038-1,689 to Fort Recovery. The Tigers fell to 1-11 with the loss.
The Mississinawa Valley boys lost 2,622-2,585 to Ottawa-Glandorf. Brandon White led Mississinawa Valley with games of 213 and 172, Alex Longfellow bowled games of 161 and 194, Matt Slyder rolled games of 155 and 181, Mason Hardwick bowled games of 180 and 151, and Zac Longfellow rolled a 195. The Blackhawks fell to 6-5 with the loss.
Versailles’ boys lost 2,831-2,765 to Celina. Jacob Wenig led Versailles with games of 262 and 146, Kyle Cotner rolled games of 203 and 162, Alex Groff bowled games of 150 and 208, Luke Shellhaas bowled games of 186 and 172, Aydan Moran rolled a 203, and Brandon Bradley rolled a 133. The Tigers fell to 7-4 with the loss.
The Ansonia, Mississinawa Valley and Versailles bowling teams will compete in the Ohio High School Athletic Association tournament this week. The boys teams will compete at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Poelking Marian Lanes in Huber Heights while the girls teams will compete at 9 a.m. Thursday at Poelking Marian Lanes.
