GREENVILLE — Nikki Nealeigh Community Services Representative from Village Green Health Campus collaborated with Greenville Public Library to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day, Feb 17.
The event kicked off at 9 a.m. with about 20 members of the Kiwanis Aktion Club giving out random acts of kindness bombs. Kiwanis Aktion Club in partnership with the Darke County Board of Developmental Disabilities, provides adults living with disabilities an opportunity to develop initiative, leadership skills and to serve their communities.
Nealeigh and Deb Cameron, who is Reference Adviser and Adult Programming Coordinator for the library, also handed out the random acts of kindness bombs, that were brightly colored bags of cookies. The cookies had a card attached that read “Kindness Card: You’ve just experienced a random act of kindness!”
Each card has eight lines for eight people to pass out the random acts of kindness and sign the card.
“If everyone participates, the potential is there for 600 hundred random acts of kindness,” Neleigh said.
The last person signing the card, can take it to the Village Green Campus for a special treat. Neleigh, who grew up on the Village Green Campus property, loves her job and any opportunity to help the community, she said. Cameron agrees.
“I like the idea of being kind and interacting with patrons and coordinating with the community to be a positive effect,” Cameron said.
