Two people injured in rollover accident

GREENVILLE – Two people were injured Thursday night after their vehicle went off the roadway in a rollover accident.

According to Darke County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jamie Joseph a semi-truck and a Ford Expedition were both driving northbound on U.S. Route 127. The Expedition had two occupants: a male and female, with the female driving, he said. Both seemed to be wearing seatbelts, he said.

“The Expedition was attempting to pass the semi prior to it coming down to one lane, and didn’t make it completely in front of the semi,” he said. “The semi clipped the right rear portion of the vehicle, causing the Expedition to slide off of the road and roll at least two times before coming to a stop.”

Both occupants of the vehicle were transported to Wayne HealthCare. The semi driver refused medical treatment.

The driver and passenger of a Ford Expedition were transported to the hospital after going off the roadway in a rollover accident Thursday night.
