GREENVILLE — “Declare Greenville” brought in a full-house, Friday, March 3, at St. Clair Memorial Hall.
Declare Worship Community, a 501(c)(3) ministry, partnered with some Darke County churches of different denominations, to bring an event of worship to Greenville. It was Declare’s seventh event. Caleb Ingram, 27, of near Covington, Ohio, thanked the crowd for being a part of the work of the Lord.
“It takes the whole body working together,” he said. “Tonight, I just want to remind each of you – you might feel like your only job is you came here, you sat in the seat and you watched. You might even be convinced that is all you are good for in life.
“I want to encourage you, God has called you – he has a plan for you,” he said. “The work and the plan of God cannot be carried out with a couple of dozen people in Darke County. It requires all of God’s people saying, ‘Lord here I am, you can have it all Lord – use me.’”
Matthew Van Culin, of Greenville, attended the event.
“I lost my uncle, from Bradford, Ohio, last April, and it’s kind of hard for me,” he said. “He had a staff infection – he was a really nice gentleman. I lost some of my friends over stuff. I have some friends left, but not many. I really hope I can have more friends in the future. I am here because it gives me hope to believe in the Lord and believe in God.”
Stephanie Hamilton, of Greenville, brought her daughters to the event. She attends the Evangelical United Methodist (EUM) church. When asked what the draw to this event was, she said it is the unity in the community.
“Churches are starting to come together in unity.” she said. “For so long, it’s been – this is my church on this corner, this is my church on this corner, but now we are starting to unify as the body of Christ, which is the way it’s supposed to be.
“I want to encourage you that you leaving here is being part of a witness,” Ingram said. “And to remember what the Lord has done for us. We told God that we would give him everything. I pray that as we go tonight, we begin to live that out more and more. I love serving this ministry; it is all for the glory of God. He chooses to use so many of us and our different gifts to be a part of his plan.”
