Bow Wow Birthday Bash helps rescue shelter

UNION CITY, Ind. — Shelly King’s sixth annual 50th Bow Wow Birthday Bash, hosted by PAWS Animal Rescue & Shelter for the public, will be held Thursday. March 23 at 11 a.m. and Friday, March 25 at 2 p.m.

It will be held at her store, The Corner Cupboard, 239 N. Columbia St., Union City, Indiana.

“In honor of my sixth annual 50th Birthday (aka 55th!), I’m once again asking my animal loving friends and family to donate an item to PAWS,”said King. “This is a win-win event: It raises lots of cash and brings in a mountain of donations for the PAWS doggies, plus I get to stay 50 for the sixth year in a row!”

Suggested items, she said, include: Dog toys, Nylabones, treats of all kinds (no rawhide), Purina Dog Chow, Pill Pockets, HE laundry soap, kitchen-size garbage bags, fleece blankets, leashes and collars.

“Gift cards from any place that sells pet supplies are also appreciated,” she said. “If you live out of the area and would like to send something, please send to PAWS, c/o Birthday Bash, 239 N. Columbia St., Union City, IN 47390.”
