Greenville baseball team run rules Dunbar 27-0

GREENVILLE – Greenville started the 2017 baseball season with a 27-0 run rule victory over Dunbar on Saturday afternoon.

Greenville scored eight runs in the first inning and 19 in the second inning to beat Dunbar. The Wave had 15 hits and no errors while the Wolverines had one hit and two errors.

Tyler Beyke led the Greenville onslaught by going 4-for-4 with a home run, a triple, a stolen base, eight RBI and three runs scored. Logan Eldridge went 2-for-3 with two doubles, was hit by a pitch, scored three runs and drove in three runs. Jason Shields was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, three runs and four RBI.

Landon Eldridge was 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, three stolen bases, three runs and two RBI. Tanner Ross went 2-for-4 with two walks, two stolen bases, two RBI and four runs. Kyle Mills was 2-for-4, walked once, was hit by a pitch, drove in two runs and scored four runs.

Nathaniel Ridgeway walked twice, scored two runs and drove in a run. Brandon Beyke walked twice, stole a base, scored two runs and drove in a run. Peter Pandey was 1-for-3 with a walk, a RBI and three runs.

Tyler Beyke earned the win, pitching 2 2/3 scoreless innings. He allowed one hit, one walk and struck out seven. Logan Eldridge pitched a third of an inning and struck out one.
