Ansonia baseball team loses at Houston

HOUSTON – The Ansonia baseball team lost 6-2 at Houston on Friday.

Houston scored four runs in the bottom of the first and one run in the second inning to lead 5-0. Both teams scored a run in the fifth inning then Ansonia scored the game’s final run in the top of the sixth.

Ansonia had five hits and one error in the game, and Houston had seven hits and two errors.

Caleb Jones went 2-for-4 and stole a base for Ansonia. Kane Kimmel was 1-for-1 with three walks and a RBI. Josh Heitkamp was 1-for-2 and walked twice. Devyn Sink was 1-for-3. Lane Clark drove in a run. Aric Barga and Ethan Fischer both scored a run.

Keith Burk pitched three innings, allowing three earned runs and two unearned runs on six hits, four walks, one hit batter and one strikeout. Jones pitched three innings and allowed one earned run on one hit and two walks.
