WEST ALEXANDRIA – Franklin Monroe beat Twin Valley South 10-6 in a Cross County Conference softball game on Wednesday.
Franklin Monroe took a 3-0 lead with one run in the first inning and two in the second. After Twin Valley South scored one run in the bottom half of the second and FM scored one in the top half of the third to make it 4-1, South scored three runs in the bottom of the third to tie the game at 4-4.
Both teams scored one run in the fifth inning then Franklin Monroe went up 8-5 with three runs in the top half of the sixth inning. Twin Valley South scored its final run in the bottom of the sixth then Franklin Monroe added two insurance runs in the seventh.
FM had 13 hits and two errors. South had 13 hits and four errors.
Emilee Morris earned the win for Franklin Monroe, striking out 13 and walking none.
Chloe Peters went 3-for-3 with two runs and three stolen bases for FM. Kinsie Goins was 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. Kennedy Morris was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs. Bridgette Filbrun went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
