WEST CARROLLTON – Baylee Petry and Caitlin Christman combined to throw a no-hitter as the Greenville softball team run ruled West Carrollton 15-0 in five innings on Friday.
The Lady Wave scored one run in the first inning, seven in the second, five in the third and two in the fourth while holding the Pirates scoreless.
Greenville had 16 hits and no errors while West Carrollton had no hits and five errors.
Petry pitched four innings, allowing no runs on no hits, two walks and six strikeouts. Christman pitched one perfect inning in relief.
Offensively Petry was 3-for-3 with two doubles and a RBI for Greenville. Karsyn Shaffer was 3-for-4 with a stolen base, two RBI and three runs. Courtney Bryson was 2-for-2 with a stolen base and a run. Sydney Grote was 2-for-3 with a home run, a run and three RBI.
Cassie Cromwell was 1-for-2 with a double, was hit by a pitch, scored two runs and drove in three runs. Morgan Gilbert was 1-for-5 with a double and a run. Zoe Pressnall was 1-for-1 with a RBI. Makayla Hanes was 1-for-2 with a walk, a RBI and two runs. Lani Shilt was 1-for-3 with a stolen base, two runs and two RBI. Alli Hill was 1-for-3 with a RBI. Chloe Sowry walked once and scored a run. Haleigh Mayo scored two runs.
