Mississinawa Valley baseball team loses to Troy Christian

UNION CITY – The Mississinawa Valley baseball team lost 11-9 to Troy Christian on Monday.

Troy Christian jumped out to a 6-0 lead with five runs in the first inning and one in the second. Mississinawa tied the game with one run in the third and five in the fifth. In the seventh inning Troy Christian scored five runs while MV only scored three.

Mississinawa Valley had seven hits and one error. Troy Christian had 17 hits and no errors.

Zac Longfellow went 2-for-3 with a double, stole two bases and scored two runs. Ethan Dirksen was 2-for-3 and scored a run. Cody Dirksen was 1-for-2 with a double, was hit by a pitch, stole a base, scored a run and drove in two runs. Cameron Shimp was 1-for-4 with a double, a run and three RBI.

Daniel Wogoman was 1-for-1, stole a base and scored a run. Andrew Johns was hit by a pitch, scored a run and drove in two runs. Kyler Guillozet was hit by a pitch and drove in a run. Matthew Slob stole a base and scored a run. Dylan McGhee also scored a run.

Shimp pitched three innings, allowing six earned runs on eight hits, two walks and two strikeouts. Guillozet pitched four innings and allowed five earned runs on nine hits, one walk and three strikeouts.
