Tri-Village baseball team beats Franklin Monroe 1-0

NEW MADISON – Tri-Village beat Franklin Monroe in a pitchers’ duel on Tuesday, winning the Cross County Conference baseball game 1-0.

Tri-Village scored the game’s only run in the bottom of the sixth when Camren Munchel got a one-out double to score Luke Wheeler from second base.

Tri-Village had five hits and no errors while Franklin Monroe had six hits and two errors.

Christian Ricker was the winning pitcher for Tri-Village as he improved to 4-2 on the year. He pitched the complete game and allowed no runs on six hits, one walk and three strikeouts.

Ricker was aided by strong defense from the Patriots. Catcher Jonny Wilson threw out a runner stealing, Jared Buckley threw out a runner at the plate with a one-hop laser from center field in the fourth inning, and a relay from Jackson Plush to Wheeler to Gage Hileman at third to get another runner out in the fourth inning.

Bryce Filbrun pitched the complete game for Franklin Monroe. He allowed just one run on five hits, two walks and four strikeouts.

Offensively for Tri-Village Wheeler was 2-for-2 with a walk and scored the game’s only run. Mason Sullenbarger was 2-for-2 and walked once.

Tri-Village improved to 13-5 overall and 4-5 in the CCC with the win.
