HOUSTON – Ansonia run ruled Houston 10-0 in five innings of Ohio High School Athletic Association sectional tournament softball on Thursday.

Ansonia started off strong with singles by Trinity Henderson and Jailyn Thwaits then a two-run single by Lexi Shinn, giving the Tigers a 2-0 lead in the first inning.

The Tigers then added eight runs in the second inning to go up 10-0.

Ansonia had 10 hits while Houston only had three.

Henderson pitched the complete game shutout to earn the victory for Ansonia.

Offensively Shinn was 2-for-4 with four RBI. Henderson had two hits and scored two runs. Thwaits had one hit, walked once, was hit by a pitch and scored two runs.

Ansonia will play for a sectional championship at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
