GREENVILLE — Many adults of all ages from the area arrived at the American Legion in Greenville on Friday to the help the local Community Action Partnership (CAP) agency celebrate Annual Community Action Day, held in lieu of its annual picnic.
Those who attended were treated to door prizes, an ice cream and cupcakes social and bingo. They also had the opportunity to stop by booths set up by approximately 20 vendors who were on hand to talk and hand out educational materials on their agencies.
“We invited 20-some vendors, said Carol Littman of the CAP. “The public was invited to learn what we do.”
Among vendors there were State of the Heart, Cancer Association of Darke County, Darke County Veterans Services, Darke County Health Department’s Healthy Home project, Brookdale Greenville, Village Green, Versailles Health Care, CareSource and CAP and its programs, including weatherization.
“I just happened to see it was happening,” said Louise Sando, who was the first one to arrive at the event.
Tim Donnellan, president/CEO of CAP, was also in attendance, as were other people associated with the program.
The event lasted from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
