ANSONIA – The Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League is sanctioning the 10th annual Ohio State Benefit Pull on Friday and Saturday at York Woods, just north of Greenville off of U.S. Route 127 (6129 Reed Road Ansonia,).

The Barga family has been involved in tractor pulling for 50 plus years and is very excited about another year at York Woods (home of Darke County Steam Threshers). The benefit pull will continue its partnership with Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Greater Dayton by donating all proceeds to JDRF. The Barga family has four children who are diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.

“We truly believe this event is good for Darke County and most importantly JDRF,” Ron Barga said. “Thus far we have donated over $66,000 to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which we couldn’t have done without the support of everyone involved.”

Currently slated for Friday and Saturday nights’ show are the SS Diesel Trucks, Mini Rods, UNL Super Stocks and Super Modified Tractors. Gates open at 3 p.m. both nights and the National Kiddie Pedal Pull is Saturday at 4 p.m., ages 4-10 with signups at 3:30 p.m. Tractor Pull starts at 7 p.m. both nights.

General admission is $20 for an adult each day, weekend passes are $35 for an adult and kids 12 and younger are admitted free of charge. Camping sites are available as well for $30 a day.

Everyone is encouraged to take the opportunity to see these machines up close and talk to the drivers. Again in 2017 there are free $3 off coupons available at participating Dollar General Stores. Kids can enter for a chance to win a bicycle on Saturday.
