MIAMI COUNTY — Troy Police on Sunday arrested three subjects related to a Versailles home burglary.

One man was apprehended by Troy police at gunpoint after he was found under the bridge at the northbound on-ramp of Interstate 75.

Richard “Cody” Dircksen, 25, of Lakeview, was found under the interstate near Motel 6, allegedly taking stolen coins out of cases. Dircksen was arrested and held on an active warrant out of Logan County. He also is expected to be charged in the burglary out of Darke County. He is currently incarcerated in Logan County jail on drug possession and tampering with evidence charges.

Jheramy Andress, 30, of Piqua, fled from officers in the West Market Street area and was later stopped at the Dollar General. Andress had several pieces of stolen jewelry on his person when he was arrested. He was charged with receiving stolen property in connection with the Versailles burglary. He remains in the Miami County Jail.

Olivia Sandford, 22, of Zanesfield, was later charged with complicity to commit burglary and trespassing, both felonies of the second degree. She currently is incarcerated in the Darke County jail.

All three await arraignment.

A fourth subject, Brooke Montgomery, 30, of Piqua, has an active warrant issued for her arrest in connection to the incident.

Troy Police officers began investigating the incident following a report of a disturbance at the Royal Inn in room 264 around 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Sandford met officers outside of the room. She let officers conduct a search and they found an Airsoft BB gun made to look like a real gun, a live 9 mm round, and a jewelry box with its contents on the floor.

Sandford told officers she had picked up the alleged suspects in Darke County. She claimed they went to a house that one subject said was his grandfather’s home while she and Montgomery stayed in the car. She said she saw the men take a crowbar out of the trunk and they told them to park near the river.

Later on, she drove them to Piqua Kroger and Walmart where they cashed traveler’s checks and used the Coinstar machine. She also said they went to New Bremen to purchase methamphetamines. The female gave Troy Police permission to search her vehicle. The vehicle was seized by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers were told by a nearby gas station attendant that Dircksen came in the store and paid for crackers using coins in cases. The mint 2012 quarters were recovered.

The Miami County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit assisted at the scene.
