GREENVILLE — A Union City, Ohio, woman pleaded guilty to two felony drug counts Monday in Darke County Common Pleas Court.

Shaela N. Thompson, 26, was arrested in March as part of a countywide drug bust conducted by various Darke County law enforcement agencies that netted 14 suspects. She was represented in court by defense attorney Dave Rohrer. Darke County Assistant Prosecutor Deborah Quigley represented the state.

Thompson faced two felony counts — a fifth-degree felony count of trafficking heroin and a fourth-degree count of aggravated trafficking of fentanyl.

Her sentencing is scheduled for August 18. She could face up to 2.5 years in prison and up to $7,500 in fines upon sentencing. Thompson is currently free on bond.

Among others appearing in court Monday was Nicholas J. Halley, 28, of Greenville. Halley was arraigned on two fifth-degree felony counts — importuning and disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile. He is accused of texting a girl between the ages of 13 and 16 for sex.

If convicted, Halley faces up to two years in prison and fine of $5,000.

A not-guilty plea was entered on his behalf by the court. Common Pleas Court Judge Jonathan P. Hein assigned defense attorney Randall Breaden to represent Halley. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 18. Halley is currently free on his own recognizance.

Eric D. Higgins Jr., 28, of Piqua, Ohio, was scheduled to appear in court via video teleconference from the North Central Correctional Complex in Marion, Ohio, to plead guilty to robbery charges, but the hearing was rescheduled for Thursday due to severe weather conditions at the prison.

Higgins is accused of robbing the Greenville Speedway gas station in February, a second-degree felony.

In May, Higgins received a two-year prison sentence in Miami County Common Pleas Court for the robbery of the Kroger store in Piqua, which occurred two weeks before the Greenville incident. He could face an additional eight years in prison and a fine of $15,000 when sentenced in Darke County. He is represented by defense attorney Alex Pendl.
