GREENVILLE — Three sentences were handed down and other defendants were arraigned Thursday in Darke County Common Pleas Court.
Jesse L. York, 21, of Greenville, was sentenced to five years of community control, 75 hours of community service and court costs after pleading guilty to a fifth-degree felony charge of escape. He was represented in court by defense attorney Randall Breaden. Assistant Prosecutor Deborah Quigley represented the state.
Nicholas Noggler, 22, of Fort Recovery, received five years of community control, 75 hours of community service, and must pay $125 in restitution as well as court costs, after pleading guilty to a fifth-degree felony charge of drug possession. He is also facing charges in Jay County, Indiana. He was represented by Breaden. Assistant Prosecutor Jim Bennett represented the state.
Kerry L. Meredith, 36, of Union City, Indiana, received a sentence of 20 days in jail, with two days credited, after pleading guilty to fourth-degree felony aggravated drug trafficking and fifth-degree felony trafficking. He must also pay restitution in the amount of $250, court costs, and must perform 75 hours of community service. He will be under community control for five years. He was represented by Breaden. Bennett represented the state.
A number of defendants were arraigned Thursday in court via video teleconference from the Darke County Jail.
Brandon T. Curtner, 24, was arraigned on a third-degree felony charge of trafficking in methamphetamine. He was granted release on his own recognizance. His next court appearance is August 28.
Joshua A. Back, 40, was arraigned on first-degree felony aggravated burglary and first-degree misdemeanor assault. The court continued his bond of $25,000. His next court date is August 28.
Kristie Kaiser, 40, was arraigned on burglary, a second-degree felony, a fifth-degree felony charge of violating a protection order, and harassment with a bodily substance, a fifth-degree felony. She remains in jail on bond of $25,000. Her next court appearance is September 11.
Nicholas A. Feitshans, 29, was arraigned on a fourth-degree felony charge of failure to notify of a change of address. The court continued his bond of $50,000. His next court date is September 11.
Brandi J. Caperton, 38, was arraigned on charges of attempted aggravated drug possession, a first-degree misdemeanor, as well as being charged with non-compliance of community control. Judge Jonathan P. Hein set her bond at $7,500. She will next appear in court August 28.
