ARCANUM – The Versailles girls golf team won the Arcanum Invitational on Monday at Beechwood Golf Course.
Versailles shot a 376 to win the 11-team tournament by 35 strokes. Tippecanoe finished second with a 411, National Trail was third with a 414, New Bremen placed fourth with a 431, Fort Loramie was fifth with a 433, Miami East finished sixth with a 439, Piqua was seventh with a 445, Arcanum finished eighth with a 455, Versailles B was ninth with a 484, Tri-Village finished 10th with a 488, and Franklin Monroe placed 11th with a 494.
Jorja Pothast led Versailles with an 18-hole round of 89. Also for the Lady Tigers, Lauren Durham shot a 93, Morgan Heitkamp shot a 96, Morgan Barlage shot a 98, Anna Groff shot a 113, and Cayla Batten shot a 122.
Lexi Unger led Arcanum with a round of 103. Also for the Lady Trojans, Elliana Sloan shot a 109, Madison Mankin shot a 121, Madelyn Wogoman shot a 122, Alex Less shot a 125, and Sydney Artz shot a 132.
Alexis Jay led Versailles B with a round of 112. Also for the Lady Tigers, Maddie Durham shot a 119, Taylor Martin shot a 125, and Ali Moran shot a 128.
Julia Mellott led Tri-Village with a round of 112. Also for the Lady Patriots, Lauren Flory shot a 120, Kloey Murphey shot a 127, Jazmine Hileman shot a 129, and Mekenna Anderson shot a 131.
Claire Haviza led Franklin Monroe with a round of 115. Also for the Lady Jets, Grace Zimmerman shot a 122, Breanna Lavy shot a 125, Grace Fee shot a 132, Sierra Keller shot a 135, and Josie Patrick shot a 136.
National Trail’s Makenna Jones won the individual championship with a 5-over-par 77. Versailles’ Jorja Pothast finished second with her 89, Tippecanoe’s Marissa Miller finished third with a 91, Versailles’ Lauren Durham finished fourth with her 93, and Versailles’ Morgan Heitkamp finished fifth with her 96.
