Ansonia volleyball team defeats Mississinawa Valley in 5 sets

ANSONIA – Rivals Ansonia and Mississinawa Valley went to five sets Tuesday evening with Ansonia winning the Cross County Conference volleyball match 25-23, 16-25, 14-25, 25-19, 15-5.

Ansonia’s Bailey Stammen had a team-high nine kills, Aliya Barga had eight, and Chelsea Noggler had five. Stammen also led the Tigers with nine blocks, Barga had six, and Noggler had three. Stammen also had a team-high 12 assists while Noggler added 11.

Barga led Ansonia with 20 digs, Trinity Henderson had 16, and Emily Gariety had 12. Noggler led the Tigers with four aces, Gariety had three, and Ryleigh Cloyd had two.

Mississinawa Valley’s MaKenna Price had eight kills. Stevi Keen had 15 digs. Amanda Armstrong had four blocks. Olivia Murphy had 16 assists and 15 digs. Riley Price had two aces. Sidnie Hunt had three aces, 14 assists, 19 kills and 15 digs.

Ansonia also won the junior varsity match 25-21, 25-23.

Ansonia will travel to Franklin Monroe on Thursday while Mississinawa Valley will play host to Tri-Village in a Volley for the Cure match on Thursday.
