Bradford’s Karmen Knepp wins CCC cross country meet

BRANDT – The Cross County Conference high school girls cross country run was held at Bethel High School, and there was some good individual performance by Darke Country runners this year.

Two Bradford runners turned in the top times with Karmen Knepp running a 19:06.8 for the 3.1-mile course. Skipp Miller came in second place, running a 19:42.9.

Mara Wetzel from Arcanum finished with a time of 21:32.9 for 15th place, Ansonia’s Olivia Wright ran a 21:54 for 17th place, and two more Bradford runners, Olivia Daugherty and Mercedes Smith, finished 18th and 19th.

Franklin Monroe runners Nicole Brocious was 20th, Selene Weaver 21st, Audrey Cable 23rd and Raegan Warner 25th as they led the Jet’s to an overall third place CCC team finish, the highest in Darke County.

Ansonia placed fifth and Arcanum seventh in team competition. Bradford, Mississinawa Valley and Tri-Village didn’t have enough runners to qualify for the team competition.
