COLUMBUS – One Greater Western Ohio Conference team and four Midwest Athletic Conference teams remain in contention for Ohio High School Athletic Association state championships as the OHSAA football playoffs reach the regional finals.

The MAC went a perfect 4-0 in the regional semifinals, setting up a pair of regional championship games between conference rivals.

Coldwater beat Lima Central Catholic 24-17 last week and Marion Local beat Spencerville 35-0 to set up a Division VI Region 24 championship game between the two MAC powers at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Sidney Memorial Stadium. Marion beat Coldwater 13-7 in week three of the regular season.

Delphos St. John’s beat Lehman Catholic 14-7 in the regional semifinals and Minster beat Crestview 35-32 to set up a Division VII Region 28 championship game between the MAC foes at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Wapakoneta Harmon Field. Minster beat St. John’s 41-14 in week three of the regular season.

Trotwood-Madison is the GWOC’s lone remaining team in the football playoffs after defeating Dunbar 64-26 last week. The Rams will play Chaminade Julienne at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Riverside Stebbins Edmundson Stadium in the Division III Region 12 championship game.

Two GWOC teams ended their seasons in last week’s regional semifinals. Centerville lost 42-12 to Pickerington North in the Division I Region 3 playoffs and Sidney lost 41-6 to La Salle in the Division II Region 8 playoffs.
