Versailles’ Justin Ahrens named Division III Southwest District player of the year

DARKE COUNTY – Versailles senior Justin Ahrens was named the Division III Southwest District boys basketball player of the year by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association.

Justin Ahrens, a 6-foot 6-inch senior guard, led Versailles with 25.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. The future Ohio State Buckeye broke the school record for most points in a game with 46, most 3-pointers in a game with 10 and set the school and Midwest Athletic Conference career scoring records.

Ansonia junior Hunter Muir and Franklin Monroe junior Ethan Conley were named first team all-district in Division IV.

Mississinawa Valley senior Ethan Bowman was named second team all-Southwest District in Division IV.

Versailles senior AJ Ahrens was named third team all-Southwest District in Division III.

Greenville sophomore Marcus Wood was named honorable mention all-Southwest District in Division II.

Arcanum sophomore Carter Gray was named honorable mention all-district in Division III.

Ansonia junior Devyn Sink, Bradford senior Andy Branson, Bradford senior Dialaquan Millhouse were named honorable mention all-district in Division IV.
