Tri-Village baseball team run-ruled by Tri-County North in sectional final

COVINGTON – Tri-County North run-ruled Tri-Village 12-2 in an Ohio High School Athletic Association sectional championship baseball game on Wednesday.

Tri-County North scored the game’s first 11 runs with one in the first inning, six in the second and four in the third. Tri-Village scored both of its runs in the top of the fourth then North added one more in the bottom half of the inning.

Tri-Village had eight hits and four errors while Tri-County North had five hits and one error.

Derek Eyer was 2-for-3 with a RBI for Tri-Village. Camren Munchel went 2-for-2 with a walk and scored a run.

Dylan Finkbine was charged with the loss as he pitched one-plus innings, allowing three earned runs and one unearned run on one hit, one walk, two hit batters and one strikeout. He fell to 4-3 on the year.

Trey Frech pitched one-plus innings, allowing six earned runs on three hits, four walks, one hit batter and one strikeout. Christian Ricker pitched two innings and gave up two earned runs on two hits, four walks and five strikeouts.

Tri-Village finished the season 11-10 overall and 6-6 in the Cross County Conference.
