CEDARVILLE – Several local teams competed in the Cedarville Friendship Invitational on Saturday.
Versailles took second in the team standings with 150 points in the Division II/III girls race, while Greenville came in 23rd with 610 points.
Isabelle Rammel led the Lady Wave with an individual runner-up finish, however, in a time of 20 minutes, 47.1 seconds. Other GHS runners were Lauren Dull (28:15.8) in 109th place, Kenzie Baker (29:24.6) in 223rd place, Mollie McLear (34:08.4) in 285th place and Reagan Satterwhite (37:46.0) in 306th place.
For Versailles, Maria Mangen was the top finisher with a time of 22:03.0 in 11th place. Emma Peters (22:42.7) finished in 27th place followed by Madelyn Holzapfel (22:49.7) in 31st place, Liz Watren (23:01.6) in 36th place, Renea Schmitmeyer (23:53.1) in 62nd place, Delaney Barga (24:00.4) in 68th place and Kennedy McEldowney (24:22.8) in 76th place.
Bradford and Franklin-Monroe also had several individual runners compete in the event. Bradford’s Karmen Knepp was the highest placer with a time of 21:41.1 good enough for 7th place overall. Also from Bradford, Olivia Daugherty (23:57.2) finished in 65th place, Mercedes Smith (26:01.3) placed 134th and Jenna Shellabarger (26:03.0) placed 135th.
For the Jets, Selene Weaver was the top placer in a time of 23;47.1 for 58th place overall. Nicole Brocious also competed for F-M and placed 92nd overall with a time of 24:46.8.
Emerick leads Greenville in D-I race at Cedarville
Riley Emerick lead the Greenville boys cross country team to a 21st place finish with 557 points among the 27 teams competing at the Cedarville Friendship Invitational on Saturday.
Emerick finished the race with a time of 17 minutes, 49.2 seconds to place 42nd out of 764 runners in the Division I race.
Alex Subler (18:47.4) was the next GHS runner placing 132nd overall. He was followed by Matt Karns (18:50.9) in 137th place, Jacob Watson (19:18.1) in 183rd place, Seth Shaffer (19:56.2) in 248th place, Joey Thomas (20:47.0) in 347th place and Kamron Berghoff (21:29.8) in 415th place.
Versailles, F-M compete in D-II/III race at Cedarville
Versailles and Franklin-Monroe competed in the Division II/III boys race at Saturday’s Cedarville Friendship Invitational. Out of the 33-team field, Versailles placed 14th with 350 points and Franklin-Monroe was 23rd with 643 points.
The Tigers’ Brooks Blakeley was the highest individual placer finishing in 24th place with a time of 18:12.1. Also for Versailles, Stuart Baltes came in 68th place with a time of 19:04.7 and he was followed by Noah Barga (19:07.3) in 72nd place, Alex Brewer (19:18.4) in 81st place, Jack Gehret (19:52.9) in 117th place, Andrew Cotner (20:07.1) in 126th place and Matt Cromwell (20:07.9) in 127th place.
Cole Good led the Jets with his time of 18:52.2 good enough for 52nd place individually. Also for F-M, Brendan Hosler (20:15.6) placed 133rd, Xavier Gilliland (20:53.1) finished in 162nd place, Jacob Meyer (21:53.5) finished in 219th place, Dylan Brumbaugh (22:08.5) placed 229th, Ross Thayer (23:10.7) was in 297th place and Ethan Fee (23;37.6) came in 317th place.
There were 443 runners in the race.
Versailles, Greenville compete in Jordan Moeller Memorial
Greenville placed eighth and Versailles was ninth in the 19-team Jordan Moeller Memorial Invitational last week. The Wave shot a team score of 371 while the Tigers had a 372.
Versailles’ Connor VanSkyock was the top local individual finisher at the tournament tying for second place with a 77. Also competing for the Tigers were Alex Keiser with a 95, Will Eversole with a 98 and Austin Pleiman with a 102.
For Greenville, Andrew Kiryluk was the low scorer with an 88. He was followed by Alex Kolb (91), Bryan Day (95), Will Hartzell (97) and Evan Saylor (98).
St. Henry’s Jack Romer was the overall medalist with a 73. The top 10 teams were Minster (327), Shawnee (340), St. Mary (343), Wapakoneta (346), St. Henry (346), Anna (352), Delphos St. John’s (354), Greenville (371), Versailles (372) and Van Wert (377).
Versailles 185, Fort Recovery 211
The Tigers improved to 8-3 overall in dual matches and 6-3 in the Midwest Athletic Conference with a 185-211 win over Fort Recovery last week.
Connor VanSkyock was the medalist with a 44. Joining him for the team score were Brayden Robinson with a 46, Ethan Kremer with a 47 and Austin Pleiman with a 48. Also competing in the match were Alex Keiser (49) and Will Eversole (53).
Tri-Village 189, Ansonia 220, Mississinawa Valley 243
Tri-Village won a tri-meet with Cross County Conference foes Ansonia and Mississinawa Valley last Thursday on the front nine at White Springs Golf Course.
The Patriots’ Gage Hileman was the overall medalist with 42. The other top three scorers for Tri-Village were Dylan Holsapple (44), Aiden Collins (49) and Brendan Durst (54). Also competing for TV were Josh Sims (65) and Noah Hill (68).
Ansonia was led by Tyler Sink with a 48. Johnnie Bozarth shot a 53 followed by Trevor Martin with a 58 and Connor Stachler with a 61. Also competing for the Tigers were Dalton Drees (65) and Mitchell Shook (73).
For Mississinawa Valley, the top four scorers were Justin Miller (53), Zach Longfellow (59), Kaedon Stewart (63) and Dalton Brim (68). Also competing for the Blackhawks were Maddie Heistand (82) and Addison Spitler (85).
Arcanum 177, Franklin-Monroe 234
Carter Gray shot a 40 to lead Arcanum to a Cross County Conference win over Franklin-Monroe last Thursday on the back nine at Beechwood Golf Course.
Gray was joined in compiling the team score by Cade Brubaker (43), Kendall Wright (45) and Jack Shannon (49). Also competing for the Trojans were Evan Atchley (50) and Trevor Bailey (51).
Franklin-Monroe was led by Jacob Aslinger with a 56. Also contributing to the Jets team score were Dalton Goubeaux (57), Simon Mote (58) and Austin Wolfe (63). F-M’s other two competitors in the match were Bradley Rumble (64) and Chase Osterday (74).
Tippecanoe 172, Greenville 187
Warren Hartzell was Greenville’s top golfer in a dual match with Tippecanoe last week.
Hartzell shot a 43 in the Wave’s 172-187 loss to Tippecanoe. Evan Saylor (46), Bryan day (47) and Alex Kolb (51) also contributed to the team score. Andrew Kiryluk (52) and Jack Marchal (55) also competed in the match.
Greenville’s dual record is now 4-7.
Bradford 213, Bethel 229
Keaton Mead was medalist with a 47 as Bradford defeated Bethel 213-229 in a dual match last week.
Connor Jones (54), Gage Wills (55) and Eric Sanders (57) also contributed to the Railroaders score.
Bethel was led by Ryan Santo with a 50.
Arcanum 206, Franklin-Monroe 234
Lexi Unger shot a 42 to earn medalist honors and lead Arcanum to a dual match win over Franklin-Monroe last Thursday on the back nine at Beechwood Golf Course.
Also joining Unger in counting toward the teams score were Madison Mankin (52), Elliana Sloan (56) and Maddy Wogoman (56). Sydney Artz (57) and Araya Musselman (60) also competed for the Trojans.
Claire Haviza led the Lady Jets with a 44. She was followed by Bre Lavy (54), Josie Patrick (66) and Ally Warner (70). Also playing in the match for F-M were Lydia Mikesell (72) and Jen Wolf (86).
Northmont 215, Greenville 231
Jaiden Bowers was match medalist with a 51 in leading Northmont to a win over Greenville last week.
The top four scorers for the Lady Wave were Jada Garland with a 54, Makenzi Glancy with a 55, Lainey Oswalt with a 59 and Jessica Mortensen with a 63.
