GREENVILLE – The YMCA’s Child Development Center in Greenville recently earned its fourth star under Ohio’s Step Up to Quality rating system.

Step Up to Quality is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system administered by the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. SUTQ measures the quality of daycares’ teaching staff, training hours, curriculum and staff-child ratios that go beyond licensing standards.

Centers with more stars indicate better child-to-staff ratios, higher staff education, on-going specialized staff training and utilization of a research-based curriculum that aligns to Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards.

“I am very proud of our Child Development Center and its recent achievement,” said Sam Casalano, CEO of YMCA of Darke County. “This recognition shows our commitment to continuous improvement in providing the best possible care and early learning environment for our children.”

Children enrolled in the Darke County YMCA Child Development Center will have the advantage of instruction by highly trained teachers, emphasis on the development of school readiness skills and a focus on family engagement.

Full-time child care is available for children age 6 weeks to 5 years with before and after school care for grades K-4 in Greenville and K-6 in Versailles as well as full-day care on no-school days during the school year. Advance registration is required.
