Prep Roundup: Fort Loramie tops Mississinawa Valley, 64-20

FORT LORAMIE – Trent Collins threw for 219 yards and three touchdowns for Mississinawa Valley on Friday night, but it wasn’t enough for the Blackhawks to derail Cross County Conference frontrunner Fort Loramie, who remained on top of the league with a 64-20 win.

Collins for 16-for-33 passing for 219 yards and three touchdowns in the game. He connected with Will Hall five times for 144 yards and two of the touchdowns. Zac Connor had the other TD reception. He had three catches total for 30 yards.

Collins also was Mississinawa Valley’s leading rusher with five carries for 27 yards. Josh Fett had three touches for 20 yards.

Defensively, Hall was the leading tackler with 13 total. Max Dirmeyer was next with 11 tackles.

The loss drops Mississinawa Valley to 3-4 overall and 2-3 in the CCC, while Fort Loramie improves to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in the league. Mississinawa Valley will host National Trail next Friday, while Fort Loramie travels to Tri-Village.

Miami East blanks Bradford, 63-0

CASSTOWN – Vincent Villela and Justin Brown combined for five rushing touchdowns in leading Miami East to a 63-0 win over Bradford last Friday night.

Villela’s touchdowns were on runs of 54, 16 and 9 yards, while Brown scored on runs of 21 and 24 yards for the Vikings.

Miami East also scored on two interception returns, one for 45 yards and the other for 63 yards.

Hunter Gheen led the Bradford squad with seven carries for 27 yards and three receptions for 11 yards. He also led the defense with 13 tackles. Larkin Painter had two rushes for 28 yards and Taven Leach was 5-of-14 passing for 39 yards for the Railroaders. He was intercepted five times.

The loss drops Bradford to 0-7 overall and 0-5 in the Cross County Conference, while Miami East improves to 5-2 overall and 3-2 in the league.

Bradford will travel to Covington next Friday, while Miami East will host Arcanum.
