Prep Roundup: Arcanum’s Delk wins Ed Leas Fall Classic

EATON – Tanner Delk was the individual champion at the Ed Leas Fall Cross County Classic in Eaton on Saturday. The Arcanum senior ran the course in 16 minutes, 42 seconds flat finishing 16 seconds ahead of Eaton’s Alex McCarty.

The Trojans were fourth in the team standings with a score of 122 coming in behind Kings (40), Eaton (63) and Waynesville (94).

Also contributing to the team score for Arcanum were Landen Kreusch, who finished 22nd overall in a time of 18:23. He was followed by Logan Todd (18:50) in 34th place, Ethan Moores (19:04) in 40th place and Dakota White (19:07) in 43rd place. Other Arcanum runners were Griffin Cates (19:09) and Tyler Pfahler (20:42).

Franklin-Monroe and Ansonia also were in the field of competitors. The Jets finished 10th out of 16 teams with a score of 298, while the Tigers (378) came in 14th as a team.

F-M was led by Cole Good, who placed 20th individually with a time of 18:19. He was followed by Brendan Hosler (19:55) in 74th place, Xavier Gilliland (20:00) in 77th place, Ross Thayer (21:03) in 101st place, Dylan Brumbaugh (21:25) in 108th place, Jacob Meyer (22:15) in 124th place and Logan Garber (22:36) in 133rd place.

Ansonia’s top finisher was Logan Warner (19:29) in 55th place. He was followed by Chad Millikin (20:40) in 90th place, Garrett Kaiser (21:21) in 104th place, Michael Hall (22:25) in 127th place, Kyle Thornhill (22:30) in 128th place, Andrew Thornhill (22:34) in 132nd place and Trenten Case (22:57) in 136th place.

Ansonia 7th, Arcanum 8th in Ed Leas Classic

Ansonia and Arcanum finished in seventh and eighth place respectively in the 15-team field of the Ed Leas Fall Classic meet on Saturday in Eaton.

The Tigers scored 196 points while the Trojans totaled 236 points.

Olivia Wright was the top finisher for Ansonia. She ran the race in 23 minutes, 25 seconds to place 36th overall. She was followed by Lydia Snyder (23:47) in 44th place, Cierra Rosinski (24:03) in 47th place, Kierra Reichert (24:14) in 52nd place, Mariah Troutwine (24:18) in 53rd place, Emily Wright (24:44) in 58th place and Deanna Moody (30:46) in 108th place.

Arcanum’s Lydia Shannon was the top placer among local runners. She finished 28th in a time of 22:41. Also for the Trojans, Elora Sudduth (23:56) came in 45th place followed by Regan Weaver (25:31) in 70th place, Aidan O’Brien (25:45) in 72nd place, Chloe Eberhard (27:16) in 84th place, Melanie Kutter (29:28) in 100th place and Makenna Gunckel (35:37) in 124th place.

Franklin-Monroe had three individual runners compete in the meet. Selene Weaver was the top placer finishing in 31st place with a time of 22:59. Also for the Jets, Nicole Brocious (24:02) came in 46th place and Kim Fourman (49:53) finished in 126th place.

Versailles girls win, Bradford 4th Coldwater Invite

Versailles totaled 94 points to win the Coldwater Lions Invitation on Saturday at Cavalier Stadium.

The Tigers placed four runners in the top 25 to help them claim the team title. Liz Watren was the highest placer for VHS coming in 12th place in a time of 21 minutes, 40.18 seconds. She was followed by Maria Mangen (21:42.69) in 13th place, Madelyn Holzapfel (22:02.91) in 17th place and Kara Spitzer (22:12.41) in 21st place. Also contributing for the Tigers were Lauren Menke (22:34.53) in 31st place, Lexie DeMange (23:18.72) in 48th place and Delaney Barga (23:38.78) in 57th place.

The Railroaders placed three runners in the top 15 to help them score 134 points and finish fourth out of 15 teams. Karmen Knepp led Bradford in fourth place overall with a time of 20:48.25. Skipp Miller (21:08.09) finished in seventh place and Austy Miller (21:32.81) finished in 11th place. Also for Bradford, Olivia Daugherty (22:39.53) came in 32nd place and Mercedes Smith (25:09.38) finished in 94th place.

Mississinawa Valley had four runners compete at the meet. Noemi Arrona (30:16.97) placed 179th followed by Maria Ojeda (32:24.34) in 191st place, Gabby Rammel (34:31.72) in 201st place and Madison Hayes (36:50.44) in 205th place.

Versailles boys 6th, Mississinawa Valley 17th at Coldwater Invite

Versailles totaled 144 points to finish in sixth place out of 18 teams at the Coldwater Lions Invitational on Saturday at Cavalier Stadium. Mississinawa Valley came in 17th place with a score of 489.

Brooks Blakeley was the highest local placer coming in seventh overall with a time of 17 minutes, 36.78 seconds. Joining him in contributing to the Tigers score were Stuart Baltes (18:34.15) in 24th place, Brian Heitkamp (18:51.56) in 33rd place, Alex Brewer (19:03.53) in 39th place and Noah Barga (19:11.50) in 41st place. Also for Versailles, Jack Gehret (19:15.88) came in 43rd place and Matt Cromwell (19:27.31) finished in 52nd place.

For Mississinawa Valley, Dalton Marker was the top runner coming in 88th place in a time of 20:42.22. Also for the Blackhawks were Roman Dircksen (22:42.25) in 150th place, Jacob Dircksen (23:16.44) in 167th place, Jacob Dirmeyer (23:22.03) in 170th place, Michael Rammel (23:37.06) in 175th place, Shawn Wogoman (23:46.97) in 178th place and Connor Buffenbarger (26:21.50) in 197th place.

Bradford had two individual runners at the meet. Jackson Moore finished in 63rd place with a time of 19:44.12, while Shane Bryan (25:08.09) came in 192nd place.
