VERSAILLES — Crown Healthcare Group has acquired Versailles Health Care Center from Covenant Care in a $7.1 million purchase.
As a result of the sale and with plans for added services, Versailles Health Care will now be known as Versailles Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
The center can house almost 100 residents for long-term care, in addition to performing outpatient therapy, Executive Director Lindsey Gehret said.
“We do a lot of outpatient services as far as sports medicine for kids in school, as well as people having an outpatient procedure and wanting to come in,” she said.
Crown is a “small grassroots, community-based company which takes pride in giving back to the community,” she added.
Gehret said the building’s signage will soon be redone to reflect the change and the center is seeking to expand upon its existing residential and rehabilitation services in the near future.
“There are some very positive changes that we hope to have rolled out by the end of the year if not sooner to better meet the needs of our community,” she said.
Crown’s Director of Integrated Support T.J. Johnston-Hicks said long-term care as an industry is becoming more localized, moving from a national to a more regional emphasis.
“The movement is, if it’s more regional then you can really service that population at a more personal level,” he said, adding, “This is an excellent facility. It’s got a great track record, a great history. We’re excited to have this facility.”
