GREENVILLE – The inaugural Greenville Green Wave boys basketball program preview event went so well last year that it will return for its second year, according to head coach Kyle Joseph
The second annual Program Preview will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Greenville High School Gymnasium. Presented by Double M Diner and Walker Construction, the Program Preview is a great chance to see this year’s boys basketball teams from 7th through 12th grade in action before the season starts, along with the Green Wave cheerleaders and pep band. The evening will feature games and giveaways for fans and a full inter-squad scrimmage with the varsity basketball team.
“It works as our one fundraiser for the year, but it is also a great opportunity for us to introduce our teams to the community,” Joseph said. “The money we raised last year helped support our summer shootouts and camps.
“One hundred percent of the money raised comes back to the program,” he continued. “We hope to be able to save up in the future for new uniforms and other equipment that can help our program.”
All the teams and players will be introduced followed by a brief scrimmage at each level until the varsity group which will play a full four-quarter scrimmage. Joseph said there will also be other activities such as a skills competition and a 3-point shooting contest. There will be giveaways as well. Last year, Joseph said several $50 gift cards were given away for various items.
“There will also be a silent auction,” Joseph added. “Last year went pretty well, so we are just trying ti make it even better this year. The event is extremely important to our program and we hope to have an even better turnout this year.”
The basketball program is still accepting sponsors for this event, along with silent auction items. Sponsorship levels range from Gold ($200+), Silver ($100) and Bronze ($50). If you are interested in sponsoring at any level, please contact coach Kyle Joseph at [email protected].
