GREENVILLE – A minor injury accident Monday afternoon had traffic slowed on Wagner Avenue while crews were busy cleaning up the scene.
At approximately 3:15 p.m., emergency personnel from Greenville City Fire Department and Greenville Township Rescue along with officers from the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to the area of Russ Road and Wagner Avenue in regards to an accident with injuries.
According to the Greenville Police Department, a white Chevy Cavalier was attempting a right-hand turn out of a private lot onto southbound Wagner Avenue when it pulled into oncoming traffic and was struck by a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee also traveling southbound on Wagner.
The Chevy Cavalier came to a stop after running atop the curb and hitting a utility pole. The Jeep Grand Cherokee was able to pull off the roadway into a private parking lot.
The female driver, and sole occupant, of the Chevy Cavalier was treated on the scene by Greenville Township Rescue before being transported to Wayne HealthCare for what was described as a minor head injury. The female driver, and sole occupant, of the Jeep was uninjured in the accident and refused treatment on the scene.
The accident will remain under investigation by the Greenville City Police Department.
