VERSAILLES – Versailles FFA members competed in the Darke County FFA Parliamentary Procedure Contest on Nov. 26.
As part of the Parliamentary Procedure contest, each team, consisting of eight members, was responsible for completing a 15 minute demonstration of parliamentary procedure that included using six abilities and motions. Each student also took a test that assessed their knowledge of rules of order related to parliamentary procedure.
The varsity team consisted of Chair Luke Billenstein, Secretary Breanna Nieport and members Kennedy Hughes, Lizzy May, Dalton Hesson and Caden Buschur. They will be moving on to districts.
Versailles FFA also had two teams competing in the first-year division also known as Novice.
One team consisted of President Lexie DeMange, Vice President Paige Gasson, Secretary Emily Delzeith, Treasurer Noah Shimp, Reporter Ashleigh Shimp, Sentinel Darren Billenstein, Student Adviser Joe Ruhenkamp and member Koltin Hall; this team placed second in the Darke County contest and is moving onto the district.
The second Novice team consisted of President Luke Winner, Vice President Tyler Dirksen, Secretary Asa DeMange, Reporter Kylee Hainline, Treasurer Gabe Marchal, Student Adviser Jason Simons, Sentinel Wesley George and member Grant Pohlman; this team placed third in the contest.
